Kiddie Christmas in August

We know, we know—it's hard to think holidays when the days are long, the sun is shining and there's still a full four months to go until December hits. But, when you're media, yuletide previews happen well ahead of time (it's par for the course). We recently attended two holiday happenings showcasing some darling kid-friendly gift ideas that we simply must pass on to you (hey, the earlier you can check those little names off your list, the better)! Ho ho ho! —Noa Nichol

mec's got great kid stuff. Sure, Mountain Equipment Coop has long been a gifting go-to for those who have outdoorsy types in their circle, but the Vancouver-based company makes plenty of awesome kid stuff, too. We love the matchy-matchy combo of the MEC Junior Book Bag and Cocoon Reversible Jacket in forest- or fox-inspired prints—and know our babes will, too!

so does indigo. Not just for books (as if you didn't know that already), Indigo stores stock a huge variety of incredible gifts come holiday time—including PJs. If your family, like ours, has long upheld the tradition of gifting a brand-new set of pajamas to each child at Christmas, this pair of Raspberry Moose jammies is your huckleberry (look for them in store and online closer to the big day).

and domestic objects. Founded by mom-of-two Sarah Jagger, DO makes (and ships, worldwide) the most-adorable children's play tents with the simple goal of spurring imaginative play (translation: iPads off, make-believe hats on). They're roomy inside and, whether you opt for a plain canvas, polka-dot or striped tent (to match your décor, natch), each is made by hand with love and all-natural fabrics. There's even a play tent canopy bed that fits a twin or single mattress, plus a campfire accessories set complete with felt flames, fire logs and giant marshmallows on roasting sticks to set the stage for fun!
